Travel Ravel:Perissa and Kamari beaches(Day 7)

I know I know it's been ages since I have come back from my holiday and I am still posting pics. To be honest I have lost most of the holiday tan (I am glad about it!) as well. I posted other articles on blog in between as I thought posting the Greece pictures might make you yawn. I couldn't be away for too long :P. I promise this is going to be my second last blog post on Greece. 


On day 7 we went to Perissa and Kamari beaches. Didn't do much, just loitered around the beach, the shops,ate sea food and went jet skiing .Here are the pics

Tan tan aaaa...

Have you observed my shoulders and hands in the above picture? That’s the worst tan anyone can ever have. When I got tanned I tweeted saying that my arms don’t look like part of my body anymore. I am sure you all agree with that.



So what led to that damaging tan on my skin?

Yes yes yes I had applied a sunscreen(waterproof one) on my skin.


Then where did it go wrong?


I did a major mistake by not re-applying it every 2 hrs. Yes, just applying once in the morning before heading out won’t help . More over the sun had such balmy feeling on my skin and the light breeze didn’t make me realise that my skin is burning. Only when I reached back to the hotel and touched my arm I realised I have tanned and burnt.


So what did I DO?


Made sure to cover myself up and wear cottons so that my skin doesn’t get irritated more.
After coming back home?

Used some age old remedy. Here are the steps:

• Exfoliated(only when the skin healed) my entire body and face
• Boiled (Even raw potato can be used)a potato and mashed it well and then mixed some milk(raw milk if available) in it.
• Applied it all over the affected areas
• Washed it after 15 mins
• Applied my mosituriser as usual

A potato helps in brightening the skin and is a natural product .So win-win.

Lesson learnt: Always re-apply the sunscreen on your skin

Travel Ravel: Relaxing in Oia(Day 6)

Why Nars Sheer glow?

After my post on how to choose a foundation here, some people left me messages asking for what my favourite foundation till date is and what makes it my favourite.

I can answer this question without thinking even for a second. Hands down it’s my nars sheer glow. However I have to say one thing i.e. it’s my "current" favourite product. Being a makeup addict I tend to /love to try out new stuff and can easily fall in love with something else. Makeup industry is growing so vastly that many companies are coming out with new products every day and you never know when I will find your next Holy Grail foundation.


Alright, so let’s come back to the topic of why I love Nars sheer glow

•  I love the foundation because the colour range is very vast and I have found my exact match. It looks a bit light when I apply it but in few minutes blends in beautifully into my skin as if it's my real skin.

•  As the name says it does give a subtle glow to my skin. Bear in mind that it does not have any shimmers in it, it's just the  formulation that gives a glow finish on the skin. It’s not like some foundations which claim to be “glowy” but end up giving “oily” finish.

•  The most amazing thing is the consistency. It can be used as tinted moisturiser if applied with right brush(read MAC 187/Sigma F15 ) , can be used as a medium coverage and can be built up for full coverage.

•  It does not give artificial look. Have foundation for both warm and cooler tones.

•  It photographs extremely well.Anyone getting married? Need a foundation?

• Good Staying power. Obviously not as long as the long wear ones but with primer it performs even better.
